Crews battle grass fire at Mather and Douglas Blvd in Sacramento County

The Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District has both air and ground resources responding to the fire.

Metro Fire crews are on-scene of a grass fire at Mather Blvd and Douglas Blvd.

SACRAMENTO COUNTY, Calif. — A firefight is underway after a grass fire sparked in Sacramento County.

The Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District said the fire is at Mather Boulevard and Douglas Boulevard. Crews are currently fighting the fire from the ground and the air.

Officials said a homeless encampment was searched and cleared with no injuries reported. 14 total acres were burned, authorities said.
