Man who allegedly molested a teen inside a library arrested

It was inside a restroom at the Yolo County Library where a teen said he was sexually assaulted several times over several weeks.

On April 30, Davis police arrested 59-year-old Dennis Lee Azevedo for allegedly molesting the teen inside the men's restroom.

"I'm shocked," said Janice Hernandez, a parent who takes her kids to the library. "You would think it is a safe environment to be with kids and with adults here, you would think it would be safer."

Investigators said while most libraries are safe, they can attract the wrong people.

"Generally someone who is going to be targeting children wants to be in an environment where there are children," said Lieutenant Tom Waltz with the Davis Police Department. "They want a target rich environment. It might be a library, it might be a mall, it might be a school, it might be anywhere where young adults hang out."

Azevedo was charged with oral copulation with a minor and engaging in an act of sodomy with a minor.
