Students at Cosumnes Oaks High School discovered anonymous graffiti that threatened a bomb on Wednesday, according to Elk Grove Unified School District spokesperson Xanthi Pinkerton.
The graffiti was found in a restroom Tuesday. No evidence suggests the threat is credible, Pinkerton said in a statement, but a law enforcement investigation is active. Students and staff will see increased police presence on the campus Wednesday.
The school district received a similar threat at Franklin High School, but only that graffiti was found in a locker room shower stall. There was no direct mention of a bomb.
Letters were sent to parents of students at Cosumnes Oaks High School, Franklin High School and their co-joined middle schools.
"We hope parents will speak with their students about the seriousness of behaviors such as this and that 'if they know something or see something to say something,'" Pinkerton said.
