Man killed in Fair Oaks by hit-and-run driver

The man was lying in a lane on Fair Oaks Blvd when he was struck and killed by a car, according to the California Highway Patrol.

FAIR OAKS, Calif. —

A 27-year-old Sacramento man was killed late Friday night by a hit-and-run driver in Fair Oaks, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP).

Shortly after 10:30 p.m. on Jan. 24, CHP and the Sacramento Metropolitan Fire Department responded to reports of a man who had been hit by a car.

The man was lying in the right lane of Fair Oaks Blvd near New York Avenue when he was struck by a car that was traveling between 35 to 40 miles per hour, according to the CHP.

Witnesses claim the man was “acting extremely intoxicated” at the Players Pub and had been asked to leave, according to the CHP.

CHP is looking for a dark-colored sedan. They will review local business surveillance footage and traffic cameras. The investigation is ongoing.
