Man identified in possible drowning at Folsom Lake

A friend told deputies that he and Alexander Ham, 29, were riding jet skis on the lake when the two got separated. The friend told deputies he later found Ham’s jet ski, but Ham was nowhere in sight.

EL DORADO COUNTY, Calif. — Authorities have identified a man who's been missing on Folsom Lake since Sunday as 29-year-old Alexander Ham of Vineyard, California.

According to the El Dorado County Sheriff’s Department, Ham was reported missing around 6:30 p.m. on Sunday.

A friend told deputies that he and Ham were riding jet skis on the lake when the two got separated. The friend told deputies he later found Ham’s jet ski, but Ham was nowhere in sight.

Several departments have been called out to help search for Ham, including multiple dive teams and sonar equipment. The search was suspended on Wednesday.

Authorities say they do not believe Ham was wearing a life jacket at the time of the accident. He has been listed as a missing person.

Folsom Lake covers approximately 11,500 acres and has a maximum depth of 250 feet.
