Giant shopping cart rolls into the California State Fair

There are a number of ways to get to the California State Fair. A car, a bus, or maybe a horse, if you are heading to the barn. But there is another mode of transportation you may not have thought of: How about a Giant Shopping Cart?

"Big Red" is Save Marts 13-foot-tall 3,000 pound shopping cart and it made a special visit to the California State Fair.

Victoria Castro is with Save Mart. She says the giant basket on wheels was a gift.

"Well, it was a gift from BRE Hot Rods to Robert Piccinini our former CEO," said Castro

Big Red tours the state for different events. The 520 horsepower shopping cart can really move. It can go from 0 to 60 miles per hour in 7 seconds, but you won't find it on the main road. Big Red lacks some mandatory vehicle requirements, like a windshield and head lights. Not to mention the driver will hit his head on a traffic lights if Big Red goes through an intersection.

"We don't take Big Red out unless it's a controlled area, but when it is in a safe area, its drive really smooth," said Castro.
