Two people are dead after a gasoline tanker exploded in a head-on collision with a tow truck in Placer County.
California Highway Parol says that the incident happened just after 10 a.m. A semi hauling a gasoline tanker was heading southbound on Highway 20 when a tow truck heading northbound crossed the center divide for an unknown reason.
Cal Fire confirmed that both drivers involved in the collision have died.
The fire was put out by 5 p.m.
Highway 20, west of I-80 in Placer County, reopened Thursday night, Interstate 80 is also open in both directions.
