The Glam Shack

The Glam Shack is a skin care and waxing spot that recently opened at 3604 Kroy Way in Tahoe Park. It specializes in spa-style facial skin care, and has a monthly subscription service which includes one face treatment of the customer's choice per month, plus an additional hand or lip treatment.

3 Hermanas

Wander over to 3260 J St., Suite B in East Sacramento, and you'll find 3 Hermanas, a new Mexican joint from the longtime executive chef of Three Sisters (and one of the founders of Midtown fixture Tres Hermanas).

Expect a menu similar to that at Three Sisters, featuring classic dishes like carnitas, enchiladas and chile rellenos served with rice and beans. Chef Dora Saenz also plans to offer more dishes from her home state of Chihuahua, Mexico.

Pokeway

A new addition to the Natomas Marketplace complex, Pokeway is a poke joint offering its customizable fish salads in bowl, bake and burrito form. Proteins include tuna, salmon, shrimp, tofu and teriyaki chicken; you can grab a bowl at 3571 Truxel Road, Suite B1.

Alaro Craft Brewery

Alaro Craft Brewery is a brewery that's made its debut at 2004 Capitol Ave. in Midtown, in the former space of Rubicon Brewing Co. The seven house-brewed beers on tap include several IPAs, a Czech-style pilsner and an oatmeal stout, while the food menu offers snacks like deep-fried pickles and street-style corn.
