SACRAMENTO — Sacramento PD are investigating an early Monday homicide in south Sacramento.

According to Matt McPhail, Sacramento Police PIO, around 12:15 a.m., police got a call of a party along the 8300 Block of Anton Way. A short time later, police received another call of a fight and shooting near the same location. Upon arrival, police located an adult male suffering from a gunshot wound, several doors down from the party. He was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.

No arrests have yet been made. Officers are still interviewing party participants to learn the identity of the suspect.

ELK GROVE — The Elk Grove Police Officers Association announced their endorsement of Kevin Spease for Elk Grove Mayor.

Elk Grove founded its Police Department in 2006. The city currently has one of the lowest violent crime rates in the region.
