LODI, Calif. -- When Jennifer Schuyler entered her "Just Baby Gifts & Apparel" store early last Sunday, she was at a loss for words.

"And it was shocking. I couldn't comprehend it. Everything was gone," said Schuyler.

The front door glass was shattered. In about two minutes, onesies, sweaters, blankets, dresses were gone. ABC10 learned about the burglary on Facebook, with the community outraged and throwing their support behind the shop.

"Everything you see on the surface here was on the floor," added Schuyler.

The burglar took more than 300 handmade pieces leaving only a few behind hanging on racks. The total value lost was more than $25,000, according to Schuyler.

What makes them so special? The majority of the pieces are knitted from scratch with help from her 93-year-old mother. They're custom ordered, taking several days each to make.

"We create heirloom clothing, which is classic clothing for children, that we hope is handed down for generations. But, they're made with the finest of materials," explained Schuyler.

And, they've been shipped worldwide online for 11 years. She says all her current orders have been refunded. It was only recently she decided to find a location for a retail boutique store outlet. She had planned to open the store next month.

"With the outpouring of support, and the fact that this is our passion, we're going to continue. And, we're going to try to open by March and there will be a smaller selection," said Schuyler.

Each piece of merchandise has a "Just Baby.us" label attached to it. If you have any information that may help in solving this crime, call Lodi Police at 209-333-6728.
