Pedestrian killed by vehicle in Lodi

The pedestrian was hit on the 800 block of West Lodi Avenue

LODI, Calif. — One person is dead after being hit by a car in Lodi.

The crash happened on the 800 block of West Lodi Avenue between Avena Avenue and Crescent Avenue around 6:12 p.m. Officers had responded to reports of a pedestrian being hit by a car.

Arriving officers found the pedestrian, only described as a male, dead at the scene. 

Police are still investigating and will have the roadway closed for several hours.

They are asking people to avoid the area of Lodi Avenue and Crescent Avenue.

Police say no one is in custody at this time.
