Memorial fund established for slain Stanislaus deputy; funeral information released

Hinostroza's funeral is scheduled for 10 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 6, at The House Modesto, 1601 Coffee Road. A procession will take place immediately following the service from The House to his grave site at Lakewood Memorial Park, just outside of the town of Hughson.

The Stanislaus County Sworn Deputies Association released information about a memorial fund established to help assist the family of Deputy Antonio "Tony" Hinostroza.

Hinostroza, 45, was killed Sunday, Nov. 25, while chasing a fleeing suspect. The deputy crashed into a power pole and died upon impact.

The Tony Hinostroza Memorial Fund was set-up to help those who'd like to donate make sure they donate to a reputable fund and not to a scam memorial fund. Already today, the sheriff's office has found one unauthorized GoFundMe account. They are encouraging people not to donate to any unauthorized source.
