Police are looking to identify a man suspected on intentionally starting a fire inside a Kmart store in Oakdale.

Surveillance footage captured the suspect starting a fire just before 8 p.m. on August 21. Crews were first called out to the store, located in the 100 block of S. Magg Ave., to a report of smoke. When firefighters went inside they found multiple small fires had been set.

No one was injured by the fires, but officials say one store employee was treated for smoke inhalation.

A check of surveillance footage showed a man going from aisle to aisle, apparently setting the small fires.

If you recognize the suspect, you are asked to call Stanislaus area Crime Stoppers at 209-847-2231. Callers can remain anonymous and may be eligible for a cash reward.
