Couple finds love balancing on a rope

It’s not often that you find love while balancing hundreds of feet in the air, but that is exactly how Lodi couple Ryan Jenks and Kimberly Weglin met.

Jenks and Weglin are slackline enthusiasts. The two fell in love while balancing on a thin one-inch piece of rope webbing.

“It’s a sport that takes lots of patience and we support each other,” Weglin said.

The daredevils slackline across canyons, rivers and through trees. Most recently they helped set up and walk across a 420-foot slackline at Vernal Falls in Yosemite National Park.

"I have been dreaming about that line for 2 years," Jenks said.

The same weekend they set up the line, President Obama visited Yosemite. Ryan and Kimberly were lucky enough to run into the president walking on the trail.

"The Secret Service asked us to move aside so we did but the president briefly said hello to us," Weglin said.

Next week the couple is headed to Europe to show off their skills at a slackline festival. When they get home they have an even longer slackline planned for Yosemite.
