Father of 12-year-old killed on I-80 appears in court on felony sex abuse charges

Judge denied Carewin "Glenn" Czekaj's request to attend his daughter, Kendra Czekaj's, funeral because she was allegedly the victim of his felony sex abuse charges.

SACRAMENTO, Calif — The father of the 12-year-old who was struck and killed last weekend while running after someone on Interstate 80 was in court Thursday afternoon facing multiple charges of having sex with a minor.

Carewin “Glenn” Czekaj's attorney asked a Sacramento County judge if he could be allowed to attend his daughter, Kendra Czekaj, funeral on Friday, January 24.

The prosecutor objected to the request, arguing that Czekaj was the reason Kendra was in the children’s receiving home, because she was allegedly the victim of his charges.
