Man arrested for homicide after 'altercation' with roommate

Grant Sherman, 21, has been charged with voluntary manslaughter.

SACRAMENTO, Calif. — One man is dead, another in custody, after a fight in a North Highlands home, according to a report by the Sacramento County Sheriff's Department.

Grant Sherman, 21, of Sacramento, has been arrested and charged with voluntary manslaughter after allegedly getting into an "altercation with his roommate." 

Around 2 a.m. Saturday, July 13, police were called to a residence along the 5300 block of Jackson Street. When they arrived, the found Austin Sweet, 22, dead at the scene. The press release says Sweet had "visible injuries" when deputies arrived but doesn't specify what those injuries were.
