SAN DIEGO — A 29-year-old Marine from Sacramento was killed in a “tactical vehicle accident” at Camp Pendleton, the Defense Visual Information Distribution Service (DVIDS) announced Tuesday evening.

According to DVIDS, Staff Sgt. Joshua Braica was critically injured after he rolled an MRZR tactical vehicle at Camp Pendleton on Saturday, April 13. He was taken to Scripps Memorial Hospital in La Jolla, Calif. where he passed away from his injuries on April 14, the press release stated.

The cause of the crash is under investigation. According to DVIDS, Braica is survived by his wife and son.

Braica was a critical skills operator with the 1st Marine Raider Battalion. He enlisted in the Marines in July 2010.
