The discovery of a man’s body Tuesday morning behind a restaurant in Sacramento is being treated as a suspicious death by sheriff’s deputies.

Sacramento County Sheriff’s Department received a call just after 4 a.m. regarding the discovery of the body behind a restaurant in the Pavilion shopping center along Fair Oaks Boulevard, said sheriff’s spokesman Tony Turnbull.

The body has not been identified, Turnbull said.

Cause of death has not yet been determined, but Turnbull noted signs of trauma to the body and head were present.

While the death is suspicious, Turnbull said it is not yet being ruled a homicide.
