A single-car crash led to the closure of Arden Way early Wednesday. The heavily trafficked road was closed in both directions from Business 80 to Ethan Way, leading to a rush hour traffic snarl in the area. Restaurants and businesses on both sides of Arden Way were impacted by the gas line rupture.

UPDATE: 4:56 p.m.

PG&E tells ABC10 that both above and below ground equipment was damaged in the crash and workers have to make repairs to both before they can turn the gas back on.

The company said about 120 customers in the area are affected by the outage. This means that many of the restaurants listed n our previous update, remain closed.

PG&E officials are bringing in an alternate gas source tonight to get service back up and running as soon as possible.

Full repairs are not expected until Thursday, Jan. 10. At that time, customers will need to contact PG&E to have their pilots restored.
