Solomon's Delicatessen is slated to open Monday at 7 a.m. in downtown Davis, according to the shop's Facebook page.

The Jewish deli will be located in the Davis Commons shopping center where Hot Italian operated until it closed last month.

The menu will feature 'The Kenny', a kosher hot dog on a challah roll as well as a smoked sturgeon and horseradish sandwich called 'The Lydia' and a chopped liver and pickle creation known as 'The Jami'.

The deli is inspired by Tower Records and the iconic record store's founder, Russ Solomon. Solomon began selling records out of his father’s drug store in the 1940s at the corner of Broadway and Land Park Drive in Sacramento.

The deli's K St. location is scheduled to open this summer.
