Police investigating sexual assault in south Sacramento

The assault took place at the 7800 block of Center Parkway on Thursday afternoon, Sacramento police said.

SACRAMENTO, Calif. — Sacramento police are asking the public's help identifying a man who allegedly sexually assaulted a woman after threatening her with a screwdriver.

Sacramento Police officers responded to a call about a sexual assault at the 7800 block of Center Parkway in Sacramento on Thursday afternoon. 

Officers spoke to witnesses and collected surveillance footage when they canvassed the neighborhood. Crime scene investigators collected evidence at the crime scene as well.

Officials said this is the early stage in the investigation and information is limited. Sacramento police detectives do not know if this case is related to another incident.
