Hot spots continue to pop up after firefighters extinguish multiple fires at Stockton warehouses | UPDATE

It's unclear what started the late night fire, but fire officials said there are no reports of injuries.

UPDATE: 9:30 a.m.

Crews are still battling a blaze that destroyed three warehouses and damaged a building in Downtown Stockton.

Firefighters were on scene over night, and continue to monitor the area for hot spots inside the warehouses. Nearly fourteen hours after the fire started, multiple hot spots were still flaring up. According to fire officials, these hot spots were fueled by timber inside the warehouses.

Officials expect more flames to continue sparking up through most of the morning. Firefighters will remain on scene until the fire is completely out.

Investigators still don't know how or where the fire started, but are not ruling out the possibility of it starting because of a homeless encampment fire.

UPDATE: 7 a.m.

Fires were still smoldering Friday morning from a blaze that destroyed three warehouses in Stockton.

Officials say the fire started around 7 p.m. Thursday. Crews are monitoring hot spots, but new fires continue to flare up because of material inside the buildings, fire officials say.

Firefighters are expected to remain at the scene all morning to keep an eye on things.

There are no reports of injuries associated with this fire and an official cause has still not been determined.

UPDATE: 10:15 p.m.

The four-alarm fire in Stockton Thursday night engulfed three buildings, some of which were filled with timber, fire officials confirmed.

Stockton Fire Battalion Chief Brandon Doolan said the fire started around 7 p.m. near North Aurora Street. By the time fire crews arrived, the flames extended to a fourth building.

It took about 80 minutes for firefighters to get it under control. Doolan said crews will be on scene overnight to prevent any hotspots from flaring up.

It's unclear if the fire started inside or outside of the buildings. No injuries were reported.

Stockton Police officials confirmed to ABC10 that officers crashed a police drone into a power pole while trying to get an aerial view of the fires

Stockton saw multiple massive warehouse fires in 2019, including one at a pallet yard that prompted county health officials to issue poor air quality warnings to residents.

ABC10 will update this story as more information becomes available.

EDITOR'S NOTE: A version of this story said a police drone crashing into a power pole caused the outage. The power was out before the crash. We regret the error.
