STOCKTON, Calif. -- A Stockton loss prevention officer was punched in the face Tuesday while two men walked out of a department store in the 5200 block of Pacific Avenue.

The men walked into the department store around 10 a.m., picked up a few items of men's clothing and then walked toward the exit, according to Stockton police. Neither attempted to pay for what they picked up.

As the loss prevention officer blocked them at the door and take the clothing back, the man in a red sweatshirt punched her and both men were able to get away. The officer was not seriously injured.

Stockton police are asking anyone with information to call the department at (209) 937-8377 or Stockton Crime Stoppers Inc. at (209) 946-0600 and reference case number 18-46957.
