A suspect was arrested Monday after leading police on a chase in an ambulance stolen from a Stockton hospital.
Authorities say the Norcal Ambulance was taken around 6:30 p.m. from Stockton’s St. Joseph’s Hospital. Stockton police and California Highway Patrol officers chased the suspect on Interstate 5 to just south of State Highway 12.
According to CHP, the suspect made a U-turn on I-5 near Walnut Grove and headed southbound on the interstate. Officers used a spike strip to disable the ambulance.
The unidentified suspect was taken into custody without incident.
