Two killed, several injured in separate Stockton shootings just hours apart, police say

It's unclear if the incidents are related. According to Stockton Police officials, there is no suspect information in either shooting.

STOCKTON, Calif — Two people were killed and several were injured Sunday evening in separate shootings that happened just hours apart in Stockton's downtown and Valley Oak areas, police confirm.

The first shooting happened around 7:30 p.m. outside of the Polo Runs Apartments on the 8100 block of Palisades Drive. Stockton Police Officers arrived after receiving reports of gun fire and find a man shot. He was later pronounced dead at the scene.

The second shooting happened about two hours later inside of an apartment complex on the 600 block of E. Oak Street. When officers arrived to the area, they found four people with gunshot wounds — one 16-year-old victim died at the scene, the other three were taken to a hospital.

Tt this time last year, Stockton had a total of 13 homicides. After this past weekend, the city is now at a total of 20, according to Stockton Police Department PIO Joe Silva.

It's unclear if the shootings are related. According to Stockton Police officials, there is no suspect information in either shooting.
