A Lake Tahoe woman plans to walk across America to raise awareness about the importance of exercise.
Sheryl Lynn, 54, will begin her 6-month long journey on April 1 from Key West Florida and end at the Golden Gate bridge in San Francisco.
Lynn said she saw a startling statistic that American spends about 90 percent of their lives indoors and wanted to encourage people to get out and enjoy the outdoors.
"I just don't know how we can find our joy and follow our dreams if were so hard to the grind all the time,” Lynn said.
The project is being called Walking with America and she plans to stop in 26 cities and speak with students and local agencies about exercise.
"Exercise, physical, mental health well being all across the board,” Lynn said.
Lynn hopes to start a non-profit to promote healthy habits when she returns from her trip.
