Turlock twins raise nearly $1,000 for city's animal shelter

With their mom's help, Jack and Jude Locke set up a lemonade stand to fundraise for Turlock Animal Services.

Two Turlock twins spent the weekend selling refreshments to raise money for their local animal shelter.

With their mom’s help, Jack and Jude Locke, 10, set up a lemonade stand to fundraise for Turlock Animal Services.

“They said they wanted to help because they know that animals can’t take care of themselves, so people need to help,” said their mom, Stephani Locke.

Among those to stop by for a cup of lemonade were Turlock’s mayor, Gary Soiseth, and the city’s police chief, Nino Amirfar.

"They have delicious tea and lemonade! Also, the boys were so polite and excited to raise money for this worthy cause," said Nancy Atherton on Facebook.

Locke told ABC10 the boys raised more than $900. She says they plan to continue selling lemonade so they can keep helping charities in their community.
