Actor Jeff Goldblum visits Stanislaus County Fair

The actor was shooting for his upcoming television show "The Curiosity of Jeff Goldblum."

TURLOCK, Calif. — Editor's note: The title of 'The Curiosity of Jeff Goldblum' has since been changed to 'The World According to Jeff Goldblum.' 

Guests of the Stanislaus County Fair had an unexpected visitor Tuesday when actor Jeff Goldblum showed up at the Destruction Derby. 

Goldblum, who's gained fame by starring in blockbusters such as the Jurassic Park and Independence Day franchises, was at the fair shooting for his upcoming National Geographic show "The Curiosity of Jeff Goldblum."

The show is described as a 12-part series that follows Goldblum as he "embarks on a journey across the globe to uncover the extraordinary stories behind the world's most ordinary things."

"With our history of over 60 years having the derby at the Stanislaus County Fair, the filming production research team had found our website and YouTube channel showcasing the Motorhome derby," said Adrenna Alkhas, marketing and communications director for the fair.  

"The Curiosity of Jeff Goldblum" will air in November.
