The Vallejo Police Department Traffic Division is looking for a man who may be involved in a fatal pedestrian crash.
The incident happened on Wednesday around 3:43 p.m. when the department received a call about a collision on Vervais Avenue near Fleming Avenue East.
When officers arrived, they found a 1994 GMC Suburban driving north on Vervais Avenue which stopped near Elna Drive. As the driver was behind the wheel, the car began rolling down Vervais and when it left the roadway it struck a pedestrian walking on the west sidewalk. The car continued south, but was overturned on the east sidewalk and the driver then fled on foot.
The victim, an 18-year-old woman, suffered severe injuries and eventually died at the hospital due to those injuries.
While investigating the collision, police say they're looking for Vincent Fitzer who may be involved in the incident. Police believe his hair is shorter than the current picture.
If you have any information on his whereabouts, contact the department at (707) 648-4013.
