WEST SACRAMENTO, Calif. — The Sacramento Greater Economic Council announced that Applied Spectra would be moving its headquarters to West Sacramento and a representative from the company said this location should be ready in early May.
CEO and President of Applied Spectra Dr. Jong H. Yoo said in a press release that the move was a strategic and logical decision for the company's growth.
“As we were evaluating locations for our new headquarters – access to talent, the proximity to the Bay, manufacturing supply chain infrastructure, affordable housing, and quality of life for our employees were the items that were top of mind," Yoo said.
Applied Spectra has been in business for 14 years and is a company that creates devices for chemical analysis using laser ablation. This company also has locations in Australia, Asia and Europe.
The Greater Sacramento Economic Council said that the company's move would bring high-wage jobs to the greater Sacramento region.
West Sacramento Mayor Christopher Cabaldon said that the jobs that will come from this move support the city's work in trying to promote education with West Sacramento Home Run, a program with the goal of getting children to pursue and complete college.
Who are they hiring?
Currently, Applied Spectra is looking to fill seven positions. The people it is hoping to hire range from engineers to scientists to sales executives.
There are currently seven job openings. Miyeun Yoo, a spokesperson for company, said that the company will post a few more jobs in the near future.
Some of the jobs that the new HQ will need include:
- Production Assemblers
- Field Service Engineer
- Marketing Communication Specialist
- Executive Assistance/Human Resource
- Software Engineer
