Crews battle 'Canyon Fire' south of Lake Berryessa

According to Cal Fire, the “Canyon Fire” burned in the area of State Highway 128 and Wragg Canyon Road, to the east of St. Helena.

NAPA COUNTY, Calif. — A wildfire that flared up in a rural area just to the south of Lake Berryessa, prompted some evacuations in Napa County, Monday afternoon.

According to Cal Fire, the so-called “Canyon Fire” burned in the area of State Highway 128 and Wragg Canyon Road, to the east of St. Helena.

The Solano County Office of Emergency (OES) quoting the Napa County OES, said the fire has grown to 100 acres in size. No structures burned. Firefighters did not give a percentage of containment but said they are in “mop up” duty. They are expected to be out again Tuesday morning to finish the fire off.
