WATCH: GIG car used to run over JUMP scooter

GIG cars are electric vehicles that can be rented, similar to the way people can rent JUMP bikes or JUMP scooters.

SACRAMENTO, Calif — It's no secret that not everyone is thrilled about JUMP Scooters coming to Sacramento, but one video shows just how unhappy one person is with the electric scooters.

Reddit user "troythewolf" shared a video to the Sacramento subreddit of someone driving a GIG car, using the shared car to back-up and run over a JUMP scooter.

According to the person who shot the video, who is also the user behind the Instagram account "@carsofsacramento," the GIG car driver grabbed the scooter and took it into the parking lot next to the bar, where the video was shot.

"They smash/bend the scooter in half, then hop in [the] Gig car and proceed to drive forward/back over [the] scooter," said the witness. "I only caught the last few seconds on video."

ABC10 reached out to GIG and JUMP to see what they knew about the video.

GIG responded saying they are aware of the incident and the person behind the wheel has been blocked from their service. They say the user had actually driven the car from East Bay, as the Sacramento Gig program is still in beta testing and not currently available to members.

"We are concerned with any misuse of our cars, and we are revoking the individual's access to our service. GIG Car Share is intended to be as convenient as owning your own car, and we expect Members to use these cars responsibly," said the company in an official statement.  "We encourage anyone to report suspicions of misuse to our Member Support team, reachable at membersupport@gigcarshare.com or (800) 464-0889."

At this moment, JUMP is still working on a statement regarding the video.
