Rocklin's Tri City Little League makes it to West Regional Championship, falls short of Williamsport

Congratulations to Rocklin's Tri City Little League on making it to the Little League World Series West Regional Championship game in San Bernadino!

Rocklin's Tri City Little League team needed just one more win to punch its ticket to the Little League Baseball World Series in Williamsport, Pennsylvania, but the Northern California team falls just short after an 11-2 loss to Hawaii in the West Regional Championship Game.

Representing Northern California, Rocklin's Tri City Little League survived the double-elimination regional tournament in San Bernadino to face a team out of Honolulu, Hawaii, for a chance to represent the West in the Little League Baseball World series beginning Thursday, Aug. 16.

After losing to Southern California in the first game of the West Regional tournament, Tri City Little League found itself in a win-or-go-home situation. The Northern California team staved off elimination by beating the teams out of Utah and Nevada in shutout fashion. The only thing standing between Rocklin's League League baseball team and the nationally televised World Series tournament was the team out of Hawaii.

Northern California scored the first two runs of the West Regional Championship game in the third inning, briefly taking a lead before Honolulu tied the game at two in the bottom half of the inning. From there, Hawaii went on to score nine more runs, beating Rocklin's Tri City Little League baseball team by a final of 11-2.

Historically, many teams from the Sacramento area have made it this far in the Little League Baseball World Series but Tri City is the first team out of Rocklin to make it to the West Regional.

Congratulations to Rocklin's Tri City Little League baseball team on representing our region and on making it to the Little League World Series West Regional Championship game in San Bernadino!
