Elk Grove will host Stage 1 of the Amgen Tour of California Woman's Race and the Stage 5 finish of the Men's Race on Thursday, May 17. You can expect to start to see road closures around 8 a.m. Wednesday, May 16.

Big Horn Boulevard from Lotz Parkway to Elk Grove Boulevard will close
- Northbound lanes will close 8 a.m.
- Southbound lanes will close 3 p.m.
Big Horn Boulevard Detour:
Franklin Boulevard or West Stockton Boulevard are suggested alternate north/south routes during race closures. Big Horn Boulevard will re-open Thursday evening.
Civic Center Drive from Laguna Springs Drive to Bruceville Road:
- All lanes will close 11:59 p.m.
Civic Center Detour:
Elk Grove Boulevard will remain open for motorists traveling east and westbound. Civic Center Drive will open Thursday evening.
Expect rolling road closures on Thursday, May 17
Motorists attempting to travel near the event during peak race times should expect up to 30-minute delays.
Women’s Race Start:
- Expect rolling road closures from 10:45 a.m. to 11:15 a.m.
- Bruceville Road from Civic Center Drive to Whitelock Parkway
- Whitelock Parkway from Bruceville Road to Franklin Boulevard
- Franklin Boulevard from Blossom Ridge Road to Bilby Road
Women’s Finish:
- Rolling road closures will be in place from approximately 2:15 to 2:45 p.m.
- Bilby Road from Franklin Boulevard to Bruceville Road
- Bruceville Road from Kammerer Road to Whitelock Parkway
- Whitelock Parkway from Bruceville Road to Big Horn Boulevard
- Big Horn Boulevard from Whitelock Parkwayto Elk Grove Boulevard
Men’s Finish:
- Rolling road closures will be in place from approximately 3:15 to 3:45 p.m.
- Bruceville Road from Kammerer Road to Whitelock Parkway
- Whitelock Parkway from Bruceville Road to Big Horn Boulevard
- Big Horn Boulevard from Whitelock Parkway to Elk Grove Boulevard
School Delays:
Race day is expected to impact the normal traffic patterns for some Elk Grove schools. The Elk Grove Police Department has prepared maps denoting the road closures and open roadways for the morning (6 a.m. to 1 p.m.) and afternoon (2 to 4 p.m.) drive times to assist parents in planning ahead.
