LODI, Calif. — Traffic on the northbound side of Interstate 5 is snarled just north of Lodi after a load of bricks was accidentally dumped onto the roadway, Caltrans reports.

The bricks accidentally dumped onto NB I-5, near the junction with W. Peltier Road, after two semis collided around noon. The crash is affecting all lanes of traffic on that side of the interstate, CHP said.

The highway is expected to remain closed for four or five hours while crews work to clear the scene. CHP is diverting northbound traffic off I-5 at Highway 12.

Authorities did not say if the spill has caused any other wrecks in the area and, so far, there have not been any reports of injuries.
