SACRAMENTO, Calif. — Sacramento police tried pulling over a driver who they allege failed to yield at a stop sign near Bamford and Grandstaff Drive on Sunday.

But when they drove up to make the stop, police say the driver fled and was able to evade pursuing officers.

Police caught up with the vehicle later that night only to discover a driverless car parked along a residence — and a firearm magazine loaded with ammunition.

Sixty-one-year-old Curtis Smith was arrested at the property and charged with felony possession of ammunition. He's currently being held on $1,020,000 bond.
