Evacuation warnings are in effect north of Camp Far West Lake Wheatland due to a fast-moving grass fire, according to Yuba County Sheriff.

SACRAMENTO, Calif. — The risk of fast-spreading fires increases Wednesday with highs near 100° and dry, northwest winds. Wind gusts could reach 20 m.p.h. and help to spread a fire if one starts. The strongest winds are expected on the west side of the Valley. 

We have had a quick start to the peak part of fire season with several fast-moving grassfires. Fuel is running at near-record dryness heading into the second dry year.
