Magnitude 6.2 earthquake off coast of Mexico

SAN DIEGO — Did you feel it? A preliminary magnitude-6.2 earthquake shook Mexico’s Baja California and parts of San Diego early Tuesday, but there were no immediate reports of damage or injuries.

The earthquake was reported just before 8:40 a.m. The U.S. Geological Survey said the epicenter was 18 miles southwest of the Las Brisas in Baja California, about 135 miles south east of San Diego. The earthquake occurred at a depth of 6.2 miles (10 kilometers), according to the U.S. Geological Survey. 

No tsunami warning was issued for San Diego County, the USGS reported.

Some shaking was felt in the San Diego area.
