A cold front arrives Tuesday night with a reinforcing shot of cold air chances for showers

A 40 percent chance of rain is in the forecast for San Antonio Tuesday evening, but rain is expected to stay east of the city

Temperatures will begin to drop after midnight Wednesday morning, with a low of 40 for the day. Sunny skies will raise the temperature back into the mid-50s.

Lows will continue to be in the mid-upper 30s here in the city, putting the Hill Country in the upper 20s to lower 30s. There's a chance for a light freeze in the Hill Country Thursday.

Afternoons will climb near 60 and there will be a lot of sunshine.

Tuesday's rain chances are the only ones in the future forecast. By the end of the week, temperatures will climb back into the upper 60s during a sunny weekend.
