Update | Evacuation order issued for Modesto area near 9th Street and Tuolumne River

The Stanislaus County Office of Emergency Services issued an evacuation order in a large area along the Tuolumne River.

MODESTO, Calif. — March 10 update:

An evacuation order has been issued for Modesto residents near River Road along the Tuolumne River between South 9th Street and Avon Street.

4:15 p.m. update:

A second evacuation center has been opened at the Salvation Army Modesto Red Shield Center on Las Vegas Street.

Some Modesto residents are under an evacuation warning from the area east of South 9th Street and west of Avon Street between River Road and the Tuolumne River.

The Stanislaus County Office of Emergency Services released a map highlighting the areas residents should evacuate.

Currently one shelter is taking in residents at Patterson High School on 200 North 7th Street in Patterson.
