Northern California gets warm and stays warm for the rest of April

With the warmer weather in the valley and in the Sierra, some lower elevation creeks and streams will start to see runoff from snowmelt.

A new warmer pattern arrives to the Golden State on Tuesday.

High temperatures will move above average to the upper 70s with some wind. Wind will gust to 20mph and may increase pollen counts and cause allergy issues so take caution outdoors later Tuesday afternoon.

On Wednesday, most valley locations will move into the 80s and stay there through the weekend and into next week. Record highs are mostly in the low 90s this time in April and we will not approach those temperatures, but it will still be noticeably warmer.

With the warmer weather in the valley and in the Sierra, some lower elevation creeks and streams will start to see runoff from snowmelt. It is always worth mentioning this time of year that water moves swiftly and is very cold compared to the air temperature and swimming could be dangerous.

Dry weather with high temperatures well into the 80s will last this week, this upcoming weekend, and all next week.
