A look at this week's storm.

SACRAMENTO, Calif. — A series of storms is set to take aim at Northern California in the coming days, with rain, wind, snow and big travel impacts.

Monday, the first weak storm will move in from the south. This storm is mostly aimed at Southern California and we should see some light showers in the Valley by the afternoon and some light snow above 4,000 feet.

Tuesday, we see a new storm move in with more rain and snow. The morning and evening commute will be be wet and breezy, and the Sierra could see up to a foot of snow.

Wednesday may start off on a dry note for the Valley, but the rain will pick up late in the day. We should expect heavy, steady rain between Wednesday and Thursday with windy conditions up to 35 mph. The Sierra will see a full-blown major storm with feet of snow, low visibility, strong winds and major travel impacts like slow drive times, delays, and even closures of mountain passes.

The system should clear out by Friday allowing us to enjoy a mostly dry weekend.
