Holiday week forecast for Sacramento region

What's usually a busy travel week will see a slight chance of rain with mostly sunny weather.

SACRAMENTO, Calif. — What's usually one of the biggest travel weeks for will not will not be impacted as much by weather as it has been in the past. While the CDC does not recommend any travel this year due to the pandemic, we will have some impactful weather this week.

Throughout the week, mornings will be cold with temperatures in the 30s. We will also see moments of fog and frost in the morning, as long as we don't see wind or cloud cover.

Monday was cold in the morning, but looks to be breezy in the afternoon with highs in the 60s. 

Early Tuesday morning in the Valley will see some breezy conditions, especially in the westside of the Valley with gusts up to 20 mph. Tuesday night and early Wednesday morning, the Sierra will see strong gusty winds, up to 40 mph. Wednesday in Northern California will see a mostly dry cold front for the Valley with only a slight chance for a sprinkle. The Sierra will see a mix of rain and light snow over the mountain passes.

Thanksgiving day will be cold in the morning and mild in the afternoon, with highs in the low 60s. The weekend after Thanksgiving will be mild as well, with 30s in the morning and highs in the low 60s.
