SACRAMENTO, Calif. — An approaching cold front will introduce clouds, along with a slight chance of showers for the Northern end of the Central Valley late Wednesday heading into Thursday.

The threat of showers will head toward the foothills early Thursday morning, with some of these showers being fairly heavy, at times.
Showers are most likely for the higher terrain Thursday morning around 6:30 a.m. Some locations could experience a rain and snow mix. This would be for areas above 7,000 feet in elevation.

By Thursday afternoon, showers will begin to taper off, but clouds will linger in parts of the valley and foothills during this time, as seen below.
