PHOTOS: Paradise 'still standing' after Camp Fire tears through
6500 Clark Road / Paradise survivors are getting an inside look at the town thanks to a series of Facebook posts by the Paradise Police Officers Association. The man behind the camera is Sgt. Rob Nichols.
5889 Clark Road / The Facebook page seems to serve as a "work in progress" page, filled with posts that are generating comments of hope and perserverance. This photo of Eye Life Institute was taken on Dec. 10, 2018.
7542 Skyway / "I wanted to show those displaced that not all hope is lost," Sgt. Nichols said. "We have a business foundation to rebuild upon to support our community."
5720 Clark Road / "As a Police officer it is one way for us to serve our community and help rebuild it," Sgt. Nichols added. "That starts by giving people in our community hope!"
5720 Clark Road / What one understands when clicking through the posts is, Paradise residents are not giving up. They are simply waiting for when they can start over.
7515 Skyway / This photo generated many comments, with some even saying that they couldn't wait to go home and pickup their dry cleaning. " I hope my coat is still wearable! Put it in just before the fire," a woman named Patty commented.
6901 Skyway / The photo comments wrench at the heart, but remind you that some survivors have maintained they're sense of humor and absolute devotion to home.
635 Pearson Road / "Be open soon 👍" was the first comment on this picture, written by Craig Drebert himself.
7576 Skyway / In this post, people commented that they knew survivors who hunkered down in Walgreens while the Camp Fire raged outside. A woman named Cheryl writes, "I can't wait til we reopen."
5911 Maxwell Drive / Paradise High School
5475 Clark Road / Sgt. Nichols shared this photo of the Best Western on Dec. 10, 2018. Several comments on Facebook suggested that the building may have sustained damage on the other side.
5995 Skyway / While looking through the pictures, like this one of the Big O Tires shop, many people have left comments about memories about each place, saying they can't wait to get back.
6265 Skyway / Steve's Music still stands on Skyway, with the Boy's and Girl's Club still standing to the left of this picture.
6469 Clark Road / Chopped trees and singed earth are visible right outside of the the Paradise Post Office.
6600 Clark Road / Many of the business in the shopping center between Clark Road and Wagstaff Road, like this Kmart, were photographed by Sgt. Nichols. It's still not clear what condition they are in.
6081 Clark Road / On top of the "still standing" posts, the Police Officer's Association is sharing photos of work in progress, to provide updates for residents who are waiting to come home.
