If you've bought something in Sacramento this month, chances are you've paid a little extra for it. The Measure U tax increase voters approved in the fall kicked in April 1. It bumped up the existing city sales tax by half a perfect, to a total of 8.75 percent. But who says what happens with that extra money we're giving to the city with each purchase?
