Strategies for crossing the border are changing. After traveling for weeks or months getting to the U.S. and Mexico border, not every person who illegally crosses wants to avoid detection. Once they’re found by law enforcement, a long process begins, and that second journey has many possible outcomes. Lilia Luciano rides along with the U.S. Border Patrol to see what it takes to secure the border, and what can happen to asylum seekers once they’re in custody.
