Sacramento Sheriff asking for help identifying body found in Mokelumne River

The victim is described as a Caucasian or light-skinned Hispanic woman, believed to have been between 35 and 40 years old, with shoulder-length brown or auburn hair.

The Sacramento County Sheriff's Department is asking for the public's help identifying a body pulled from the Mokelumne River last weekend.

A fisherman found the body near Brannan Island Road just before 9:30 a.m. Sunday.

Homicide detectives began investigating, processing physical evidence that will likely help identify the victim.

The victim is described at a Caucasian or light-skinned Hispanic woman, believed to have been between 35 and 40 years old, with shoulder-length brown or auburn hair.

Detectives say the woman would have been somewhere between 5'2" and 5'6" and had double ear piercings in each ear, however no earrings were found when she was discovered. She also has a noticeable gap between her front teeth.

The woman may have gone missing sometime within the last month.

Detectives are hoping anyone with information on a missing people matching this description will come forward to help identify the body.
