West Sacramento Officer unhurt after being shot at

Around 6:00 p.m. Saturday evening, a West Sacramento officer was responding to an unrelated call in the area of Michigan and Walnut Street when the officer witnessed a shot fired in his direction.

West Sacramento, Calif. — Around 6:00 p.m. Saturday evening, a West Sacramento officer was responding to an unrelated call in the area of Michigan and Walnut Street when the officer witnessed a shot fired in his direction.

The officer did not know where it came from and was able to leave the area immediately. The officer is uninjured, according to police.

A SWAT team was called in to the scene to investigate.

Police are asking people to avoid the area as they continue to search for a possible suspect.
