Taco Bell's Double Decker Taco makes surprise return amid holidays

The Double Decker Taco is back on the menu, but it's not clear for how long that'll be the case.

IRVINE, Calif. — A longtime Taco Bell menu favorite made an unexpected return amid the holiday season.

Whether you live in Sacramento, Stockton or Modesto, the Double Decker Taco, a taco known for it's bean-filled soft tortilla wrapped around a crunchy taco, is back nationwide for a limited time.

The iconic taco was part of a fan voting showdown in 2022 where fans had to choose between the return of the Enchirito or the Double Decker Taco. While the Enchirito won the contest, the Double Decker Taco still claimed nearly 40% of the vote.

“The Double Decker Taco holds a deep space in the hearts of our Taco Bell Fans. The insane amount of love for this product from fans across our social platforms was impossible to ignore,” said Taylor Montgomery, chief marketing officer in a statement. “The sentiment was particularly strong following last year’s spirited face-off with the Enchirito. We listened to what our fans wanted from us and knew we couldn’t deny them the joy of the Double Decker Taco any longer.”

The Double Decker Taco is selling for $2.99, with a supreme option going for $3.69. However, there are some digital offers guests can cash in for a better deal.

Through Dec. 10, Uber One members can get access to a buy one, get one free deal. Also, until December 12, "Deck the Doorstep" DoorDash customers can get $5 off orders of $25 or more, with DashPass users getting $8 off,  when buying any of their favorites at Taco Bell.
